The parry skill could be scripted to grant a +1 shield bonus to AC for every 10 ranks (up to +4), or for every 5 ranks (up to +8) when the character's offhand is free. This should stack with the defensive fighting bonus of a lvl 15+ fighter, but not with other shield bonuses (e.g. those from shields). This would
- give the parry skill some use
- make fighting with only a single weapon a viable option (at the cost of some skill points)
- grant an advantage to non-shield users (at the cost of some skill points)
